Wi-Fi Major Concerns and Dangers (Wi-Fi Disadvantages)

Debunking Wi-Fi Dangers

In the modern tech-driven world, the entire society needs high-speed, perfect quality internet connectivity services for the smooth working of operations such as sharing large files, downloading applications, accessing internet tools, and much more.

When it comes to a great internet connection, we all show a clear inclination towards preference over Wi-Fi rather than the mobile cellular networks, which are congested and highly expensive.

Wi-Fi and wireless networks are among the most frequently used routine technologies. But being most used does not imply that it lacks certain disadvantages as well.

Debunking Wi-Fi Dangers

Main Disadvantages of Wi-Fi Technology

1. Security

One of the most common Wi-Fi disadvantages is security. Though it is protected by various encryption tactics, it is still prone to get attacked by hackers.

Being wireless makes it more vulnerable to hacking. The essential enemy is public Wi-Fi which can lead to malware installation or data theft.

2. Small Range

The physical range provided by wireless technologies is quite limited in nature. It seems to be a beneficial option for small areas or homes but can be a bit challenging for large building structures. Speed and signal strength are even affected by the difference in ranges.

3. Health Concerns

Wi-Fi can cause a major toll on health. It releases electromagnetic radiation that can be harmful to the human body. The major health issues include cancer, insomnia, and much more.

4. Limited Bandwidth

Wi-Fi offers limited bandwidth capacity. The connection to routers is defined and hence the addition of more routers can affect the speed and efficient working of wireless fidelity technology.

5. Speed

The speed of the wireless network is quite less as compared to the speed of wired networks. Transmission of big files is slower in a wireless network.

The speed also varies on the basis of the location of the network. The more the physical distance, the worse the connection becomes. This is a serious problem for tall buildings or wide areas.
