Heading Tags for SEO (H1 to H6) Explained in Simple Terms

What Are Heading Tags in SEO?

Heading tags are used to improve the readability (user experience) as well as SEO of the web page or articles.

When there are proper headings and subheadings, it becomes easier for the user to scan the content and decide which part of the content is most useful to them.

Not having proper headings can impact the SEO because visitors will leave the site and jump to others. This will increase the bounce rate.

The headings (H1 to H6) are used by order and by importance. Generally, marketers stick to H1, H2, and H3 only.

H1 should be used only once. It should be the title of the web page or article, representing the subject of the page.

After H1, use H2, H3, and so on. Don’t skip the order levels.
