SEO Monitoring: How to Track & Monitor Your SEO Progress
Organic traffic
Use Google Analytics to monitor your organic traffic.
Conversion rate
Check the conversion rate. It is the rate of visitors converting into customers.
Keyword ranking
Use Google Search Console to check which keywords are ranking higher and driving traffic to your site.
Top queries & pages
Google Search Console shows the top queries for which your website appears, along with the top pages that are being clicked.
Click-Through Rate (CTR)
CTR is the rate of clicks recorded over the number of times your website appeared to the visitor in SERP.
If your CTR is very low, chances are that your meta title is not influential.
Bounce rate
The percentage of visitors exiting your site without taking any action on it (clicking any link, buying something, or filling up a form, etc.) is called bounce rate. Your goal should be to keep on decreasing it.
Competitor analysis
Analyze your competitors who have better rankings and higher traffic than you. Using tools like GrowthBar, SEMrush, and Ubersuggest, you can find the top keywords for which your competitors are ranking, along with the pages grabbing the most traffic.
Local SEO
Google sends you monthly insights about your business listing. This tells how many people found you in local search, numbers of calls, number of people who chose directions, etc. You can also see the number of views on every photo in place listing.
