Do-Follow vs No-Follow Backlinks: All Differences Explained
What are Do-Follow Backlinks?
Do-Follow links are those backlinks that tell Google and other search engines to follow them. This means that when crawlers come to a site, they’ll also crawl the web page under the do-follow backlink. This helps in improving the SEO of that page.
By default, all the hyperlinks on a site are marked as do-follow. The HTML tag of such links look like this-
http://www.website.com/” rel=”dofollow”>Link Text
Or
http://www.website.com/”>link text
What are No-Follow Backlinks?
No-follow links are those backlinks that tell web crawlers not to crawl and follow the hyperlink. So, it doesn’t directly optimize the ranking of linked web pages.
But no-follow backlinks have other benefits, like driving new traffic to the linked website.
<a href=”http://www.website.com/” rel=”nofollow”>Link Text</a>
